Mount Kilimanjaro
UMBWE ROUTE - 8 DAYS / 7 NIGHTS

Day 1: On arrival in Kilimanjaro
International Airport you will be met and
transferred to your lodge. The rest of the day
is at your leisure. Please note this is an
arrival day and you may arrive at any time.
In the evening there is a briefing on the trek.
At this time you will also receive your personal
trek bag. This trek bag will contain a kit bag
that your porter will carry, an appropriate
sleeping bag, sleep sheet and down jacket. You
will need to transfer your other possessions
into this bag. You will be able to leave your
normal traveling bag and any excess luggage at
base hotel to be collected upon your return.
DAY 2: Leave from your hotel to Umbwe
gate to start your climb to the Bivouac 1 (2900
m) Dinner and Overnight.
DAY 3: After breakfast leave Bivouac 1 to
Barranco Camp 3950m. Through the forest heading
a long a sharp ridge. Dinner and Overnight.
DAY 4: Rest day at Barranco Camp 3950 m
for acclimatization.You can hike to any of the
higher elevations which surrounding the Barranco
Camp. Dinner and Overnight.
DAY 5: After break fast leave Baranco
Camp to Karanga valley then to Barafu Camp
4600m. There is no water at Barafu so you should
take care and stock your water supply. Dinner
and Overnight.
DAY 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak 5895m At
around midnight you start your final to the
summit to Stella Point on the Crater rim then to
Uhuru Peak 5895m. From here you descend to Mweka
Camp for dinner and Overnight 3100m.
DAY 7: After break fast descend through
the rain forest to the para gate Mweka village
1450 to obtain your Certificates of achievement,
say bye to your Guides and porters then transfer
to your hotel for bath or shower. Dinner and
Overnight.
Day 8: You will be transferred by your
private vehicle to the airport for departure.
You can book this transfer at any time depending
your flight schedule. Or we can arrange Safari
/Beach holiday / Cultural Tourism.
