Day 1:
On
arrival in Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be met and transferred to
your lodge. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Please note this is an
arrival day and you may arrive at any time.
In the
evening there is a briefing on the trek. At this
time you will also receive your personal trek
bag. This trek bag will contain a kit bag that
your porter will carry, an appropriate sleeping
bag, sleep sheet and down jacket. You will need
to transfer your other possessions into this
bag. You will be able to leave your normal
traveling bag and any excess luggage at base
hotel to be collected upon your return.
Day 2:
Leave from your lodge after breakfast drive to
Machame gate to meet your guides and porters,
ready to start the climb. Machame gate to
Machame hut 3000m. Dinner and Overnight 5 – 7
hrs.
Day 3: After
break fast leave Machame hut (Camp) to Shira
Camp 3840m. 4-5 hrs. Dinner and Overnight at Shira
Campsite.
Day 4: After
break fast leave Shira Camp hike to Barranco
Camp 3950m, 5-7 hrs. Lunch is served at
designated area before ascending a rock and
screen path to the Lava tower. Dinner and
Overnight Barranco Campsite.
Day 5: After
break fast leave Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp
4600m. 8 hrs so you should take care, here you
have to add stock of your water supply. Dinner
and Overnight (Barafu Campsite).
Day 6: At
around mid night leave Barafu Camp to Stella
point on the Crater rim. It takes 45 minutes to
reach Uhuru Peak 5895m the highest point in
Africa.
From here you descend down to MwekaCamp 3100m.
For Dinner and Overnight.
Day 7:
After break fast descend to
Mweka gate where you can obtain your Certificate
of achievement before we drive you to your hotel
for shower or bath and a good rest. Dinner and
Overnight stay.
Day 8:
You will be
transferred by your private vehicle to the
airport for departure. You can book this
transfer at any time depending your flight
schedule. Or we can arrange Safari /Beach
holiday / Cultural Tourism.
