DHOW PALACE HOTEL

This small yet luxurious hotel is situated in the heart of Zanzibar's historic Stone Town, where East meets west. KENDWA ROCKS is located on the north coast of Zanzibar, 55 kilometres from Stone Town and just a few kilometres south of Nungwi village.

Kendwa Rocks takes its name from nearby Kendwa village, and the coral rock formation that offers magnificent views above the beach. Look out across the sea to the distant island of Tumbatu and its lighthouse. Laze all day long on the beautiful white, coral-and-seashell beach. Thrill daily at the beautiful sunset. And when the opportunity presents, dance the night away in the moonlighted feeling the sand between your toes.

THE BUNGALOWS are designed to suit different needs, with en-suite bathroom and veranda overlooking the sea.

NORTH & SOUTH WINGS stand on the higher coral rock formation and their spacious verandas command views over the beach towards the Island of Tumbatu.

The SUITES are our largest rooms, luxury for two (for inst. honeymooners) good for a family. UPSTAIRS rooms are also good for honeymooners and the big verandas command wonderful views over the whole site. All have stone baths inside the room.

  • They are built of either CORAL STONE BUNGALOWS or of COCONUT WOOD BUNGALOWS. All have a sea view and a large window opening to the veranda, so you can enjoy the scenery throughout the day. All the bungalows are equipped with fans, some with AC.
  • THE BANDAS are built with palmwood and palmleaves and are equipped with mosquito nets and fans. Shared bathroom facilities.

THE RESTAURANT - serves mainly Zanzibari, Arab and Indian dishes, tasty with coconut milk, spiced with fresh ginger, lime, chili, coriander, turmeric, cumin, clove, cinnamon and cardamom from the island’s spice gardens. The menu is based on the day’s catch: fish, calamari, octopus, prawns or crab. Vegetarian choices are always available. On festive days a delicious barbeque buffet is served on the beach.

THE MERMAID BAR  - has a magnificent view over the sunset.  Exotic juices and cocktails, South African wines and African as well as European beers are available. Enjoy a game of pool, darts or African bao, Indian keram or chess. Open 24 hours, wireless internet connection.

FULL MOON PARTY- is organized around the full moon every month. Delicious barbeque buffet, acrobatic performances, dance music from around the world… be prepared to stay up late.

ZANZIBAR PALACE HOTEL

Rooms & Suites
The luxury rooms Shaba and Kijani have an apartment feel with separate but private bathrooms, each with an exquisite Sultan bath and very large dressing area. A double bed and baraza in the bedroom with an extra bed in the entrance area allow these rooms to sleep 4 people.


The Farizah and Sultana room, have open bathroom and a ten square meter balcony.
The Baina room has twin beds and a balcony overlooking the rooftops of Stone Town. The semi-separate bathroom has a shower and dressing area with a beautifully crafted Zanzibar dresser.


Beauty, luxury and comfort describe the Sherali suite! Large wooden, sliding windows (without glass with mosquito-net) surround the room and give a view of the ocean and picturesque Stone Town. The room has a double bed, cushion lounge and divan, features that force you to relax. A romantic tub in the room and a semi-separate bathroom with shower, double basins and dressing area ad up to a seventy square meter dream!


The Dunia suite cannot be described but only enjoyed. A majestic Sultan�s bed and lounge area does not even fill this spacious room. The antique Zanzibar furniture adds to the royal feeling one gets from entering but its bathroom is by far the main attraction. An open-air bathroom on the private balcony includes a Sultans bath and deck where one can enjoy sunrise ,sunset, a massage, cocktails, meals or just relax and take in the amazing view! This room is perfect for honey-mooners, couples or simply anyone who feel the need for absolute luxury and comfort!

DOLPHIN PARADISE RESORT

Just an hour from the airport Dolphin Paradise Resort literally sets itself apart from all other resorts on Zanzibar.  It is located on its own special place, an isolated bay in the virgin Kizimkazi, with open views of the Indian Ocean. The area, famous for its Dolphin Viewing, Cultural monuments and picturesque wilderness offers an easy access for diving and snorkeling, a peaceful surrounding and stunning view of the turquoise ocean.

Each Villas have a breathtaking sea view. They have been positioned in such way around the bay that none obstructs the view of another.12 villas are located on the South side of the Bay, 12 on the north side and 6 at the peninsula edge. From the sea, the layout is simply stunning.

The overall architecture is in a traditional style, with white walls, terracotta floors and Makuti roofs. There are 4 Categories of Villas. The difference comes from the location.

Zanzi Villa - classic villas located on the second or third row – all Villas offer a 180 degree Sea view from the veranda and see view from the ground floor.

Peninsula Villa - the villas are located on the first row close to the Cliff with a direct view from both floors

Zanzi Pool Villa - they are similar to the Zanzi Villa. In addition there is a private swimming pool

On the ground floor, you enter into the villa via a traditional Zanzibar Door or via the Terrace. There is a living room with a dining space, Zanzibar Sofas and a flat large screen TV.

On the same level, you have access to 3 en suite bedrooms (each 18-25 square meters + bathroom). On the first floor, the Princess Salme Lounge is the highlight of the accommodation, a large open roofed room with sunbeds on the veranda.

The Villa decoration remain very simple, nothing luxury but cosy and spacious. All furniture, Sofas, Couches, Chairs, tables, beds & Sun beds have been designed for the Resort with a special attention to carving details. Endemic plants and Classic pictures finalize the Zanzibari touch.

There is a Business Centre, a diving desk, a game area, a conference room, a boutique as well as a comfortable leisure lounge adjacent to the bar which serves the swimming pool with infinity type of borders towards the Ocean. The zone for swimming is 25 x 8meters.

The restaurants offers fine dining and views of the Indian Ocean. A separate area is dedicated to a la carte dinner. The bar is fully equipped to entertain guests. This includes a music system, flat screen TV.

Dining Options:

The Barracuda restaurant is located in the main area, it offers fine dining and views of the Indian Ocean and serves a la carte lunch, theme buffet or table d’hôte dinners depending of the occupancy. It is possible to order food from the restaurant to be served by the pool, the bar or the jetty. The reef bar services the infinite pool and main area, offering a choice of cocktails and refreshments in a casual and relaxed environment.
